Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning stated that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the ICT field of cooperation with the Ministry of Information and Communication of Vietnam and companiesfrom both countries held business meetings with each other on July 3rd at Seoul Plaza hotel.
Science, ICT and Future Planning Minister Choi Yang-hee and Vietnam's Information and Communication Minister Nguyen Bac Sonhave cut a deal to increase efforts toexpand cooperation in the field of ICT between the two countries.
Both countries will not only share the existing internet, mobile telecommunication, software and cyber security information but will also share information in the field of newly growing fields such as big data,Internetof Things(IoT) and engage in activities such as joint research, mutual exchange of professional manpower and holding seminars.
Vietnam’s main telecommunications company, ‘Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation’(VNPT) has entered a MOU with the Korea’s ICT companies. Companies from both countries have discussed about measures to make inroads to Vietnamese market and make investments through one-on-one meetings.
In details, LG-CNS has signed a MOU with Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation and have agreed to make new business opportunities in Vietnam’s telecommunication market.
Bigstar Global, an educational content company has also agreed to provide Korea’s excellent educational digital content and smart learning solution to Vietnam’s Postal Communication Corporation.
Minister Choi said “As much as the young middle-class Vietnamese in their 20s to 30s have strong desires to consume diverse cultural contents, I hope that Korea’s excellent telecommunication equipment • solution companies may enter the Vietnamese and South East Asian markets in the future."
